Deputy Ryan Clinkunbroomer

Honoring Ryan’s Life and Legacy
Ryan Michael Clinkunbroomer was born October 7, 1992, in Panorama City to Mike and Kim Clinkunbroomer. From an early age Ryan was an easy-going kid. In 1998, Ryan became a big brother to his twin siblings Katie and Chad. He loved being a big brother to them a role he never took lightly. The love and respect they had for him was immeasurable. Ryan was a very selfless person, who enjoyed helping others. His smile would light up any room he entered.
Ryan attended Northlake Hills Elementary School, Castaic Middle School and West Ranch High School. During his time at West Ranch Ryan participated in cross country, track and field and West Ranch T.V. He found a passion in West Ranch T.V. where he produced and hosted many shows. He was fortunate enough to attend student television network, a competition among high school from across the country, helping his team bring home many awards. In May 2010 Ryan graduated from west ranch.
After graduation from high school Ryan continued his education at California State University Northridge where he received his bachelor’s degree in political science. Upon graduation Ryan knew exactly what was next, fulfilling his dream of following in the footsteps of his father Mike (ret. Lt), grandfather Allan (ret. Capt.) and great grandfather Al (ret Capt.) and joining the Los Angeles sheriff’s dept. In September of 2015 his dreams came true as he graduated class 407. He was assigned to North County Correctional Facility where he served until 2018 and he was transferred to patrol at Palmdale Station. Ryan loved his job and serving the community. He was a “deputy’s deputy”, with a strong work ethic. He was promoted to field training officer, training new deputies a job he did not take lightly. He had future goals of becoming a detective and a drill instructor at the academy.
Ryan had a great passion for sports. He followed all sports, but especially was a huge Los Angeles Dodgers fan and Miami Dolphins fan. He loved attending games when his schedule permitted. On September 12th, 2023, he proposed to his girlfriend Brittany. He took great pride in making sure it was perfect. On September 16th, 2023, after exiting the station and stopping at a traffic light in front of the station Ryan was murdered, at the age of 30.
Ryan was known as a devoted family man and cherished community member. He was loved by all who knew him and will forever be missed. Ryan had a special gift that left everyone he touched a better person, which forever will be his lasting legacy.
